Conspiracy theorists are out suggesting that coach Damien Hill is not releasing the Melbourne Rebel players on a bye weekend intentionally. Hill was Sydney Uni coach and Uni is down a few players stepping into the Waratahs.
“The competition is poorer for not releasing players,” said MMMs coach Phil Blake. “The Sydney grade competition is the 3rd tier and players should play rugby at a good standard when available.
“It is very annoying to think that players like Eddie (Ahololei) and Jordy (Reid) will be twiddling their thumbs or playing lower level club rugby,” added a frustrated assistant coach, Damien Cummins.

Celebrating the clubs past players
Retired captain and half back, Chris Cottee, will be introduced to the crowd and thanked for his amazing longevity at 1st grade level and dedication to the club.
Also attending the game will be the re-union of ex coach Alan Jones and the 1983 Manly championship winning team that included 7 Wallabies. They will be congregating on the Wimbledon side of the ground.
