Home game vs Norths, 3pm Sat, 25th May

Be there of be square! This will be an actioned packed game against the “other” local team.

Importantly the Manly Junior Rugby Football players will meet the MMMs 1st Grade players having had a great tour of New Zealand.  The under 11s won 4 out 4 and the U12s won one, lost one, drew one. The All Blacks should be shaking….give the local boys a big hand!

“We are definitely up for this game,” said MMMs blind side flanker, Harry Bergelin. “We know that they have some strong backs and will play wide. We have to be aware of this but take them on up front. We had a very physical training session on Tuesday night in preparation.” Read more...

Young men who will make it

A huge acknowledgement and appreciation to Manly developed players getting into the Wallabies U20 team setting off to France next week for the junior rugby world cup.

“Yeah I am pretty excited to get selected and be going. I have never been to Europe before,” said Reece Hodge, an 18 yr old 5/8th who played for Manly junior clubs Roos and Harlequins. He had been on the back up list until last week when one player was unable to travel. Read more...

Emus make life tough for Marlins

By Adam Lucius

It was never going to be easy - but it wasn't supposed to be this hard, either.

Below-strength Manly dodged a bullet in seeing off a tenacious Penrith 44-29 at Nepean Rugby Park on Saturday, relieved to take all five points after a tight scrap.

The locals may not have recorded a single competition point leading into the game but they came at the Marlins for 80 minutes and at one stage threatened to steal a shock victory.

Trailing 17-10 after 50 minutes, the Emus had a couple of close calls go against them and eventually ran out of gas - if not desire. Read more...

Colts heed coaches instructions to put away Emus

1st Grade Colts
With 8 players unavailable this game was always going to be a test of our depth!
Those players called up as well as those still in the team combined well to put Penrith away 73-nil.
Coach Jono Harvey asked the boys to run straight and directly. The boys showed courage as this wasn't always the best option if self-preservation was a consideration. Discipline had been spoken about and the players responded well to the provocation which inevitably ensued. Read more...

It's a long bus ride

"It's along bus ride to Penrith,” commented prop and MMMs captain, Tim Fairbrother. A total contrast to last weekend’s heroics in front of a massive crowd at Manly Oval.

"We all enjoyed the atmosphere and credit to the Rats for coming back at us in the second half," said Tim about the MMMs 42-24 bonus point win against the old foe. "In the last few games we've been well in front and just not closed out as we should."

Try Norths, shortly after the second half restart in 4th Grade. Having led 6-0 we're now 6-17 down and have work to do to get back into this

Manly 6 - 10 @northsrugby at half time in 4ths. The pitch has taken a fair bit of rain lately but is holding up well, drying nicely for 1sts

Try @northsrugby . A good one too, some Sonny Bill style back of the hand passing. Excellent touch line conversion. 6-7 we trail in 4ths.

6-0 to the Marlins in 4th Grade. If this is Winter in Australia the Irish and Scottish tourists in the Lions party will fry.
