New Electronic Scoreboard

New Electronic Scoreboard – Manly Oval

We were pleased to have completed the successful replacement of the old Cricket scoreboard at Manly Oval back in February 2019. The old scoreboard had unfortunately fallen into disrepair and was deemed unsafe. In tandem with our colleagues at Manly Cricket we combined forces to raise the $110,000 funds required to put in place a new electronic scoreboard. With Community in mind the scoreboard was also enhanced to provide both audio and film capability. This means that in addition to providing the appropriate standard of scoreboard befitting hosting elite sport at the Oval ie cricket and rugby, there is now the ability to host community events such as movies and carols nights. We also invested in a vandal-proof shutter to protect this valuable asset.
In March 2019 representatives from both Manly Rugby and Cricket were joined by Manly’s State representative James Griffin MP and Councillor Mike Regan, Mayor of the Northern Beaches Council to officially open the scoreboard.
The new electronic scoreboard will transition across to Northern Beaches Council and will be a great community asset for many years to come.
