Meet The Manly RUFC Board
Meet The
Manly RUFC Board

Matt is a former player from the 1990’s (1993-1998) and was the number 10 in our 1997 Shute Shield winning first grade team. After an earlier stint on the Manly Rugby Football Club board in the late 2000’s/early 2010’s, Matt is now in his second year of Presidency after seeing all his children through high school.
Matt has gained significant leadership and business experience through his three decades working in law firms and government and sporting leadership roles. He is currently a principal lawyer and the Managing Partner of DWF Law’s Australian Office (a global firm).
Matt is proud of the Club’s 100 year plus history and the position it holds in the Community. Matt is grateful for having been a beneficiary of the experiences, memories, friendships and career opportunities that have all come from playing rugby at Manly. He is keen to build upon these great legacies and to ensure that Premier Club Rugby continues to go from strength to strength in Manly, NSW, Australia, infinity and beyond.
Matt is focused on: evolving the great culture at the Club; ensuring all our male and female players have great experiences, memories and opportunities; and achieving greater connection with members, supporters, former players, juniors and the community at large.
Matt is also focussed on the Club taking little steps forward each year (working within the annual budget) to modernise and adapt its business operations, so that it can survive and thrive in this fast moving new digital age, thanks largely to the incredible assistance of our sponsors and supporters who are equally passionate about the Club.
Oh, and Matt would also like to see Manly win nine fifteen-a-side grand finals each year (or thereabouts) – that’s only all four grades, all three colts and our two female teams. Easy!
