The Manly Mermaids are a skilled group of women with a diverse sporting background. Some of our Mermaids have strong ties to Manly Rugby such as Aliyah Helu, daughter of ex-Marlin Alex Helu, together with Mikaela Hedge who growing up, spent most of her Saturdays at the Village Green watching her brother Rohan Hedge running out for the Marlins. In addition to the experienced players, the Mermaids have plenty of new faces running around. We have Jess West and Briana Hibbert who at 17 years of age transferred their touch football skills over to rugby 7s.
The Mermaids play in a range of tournaments that take them all over NSW such as Crescent Head, Kiama, Mudgee, Bowral as well as numerous Sydney tournaments. They are always welcoming new players to come down and have a run. It doesn’t matter if you have never played before!
